COYOTE POINT MUSEUM FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Provides a multi-sensory introduction to the Bay Area’s natural history that includes an Environmental Hall, state-of-the-art interactive exhibitions, outdoor wildlife habitats that contain natural settings in which to view over 150 live species of animals, themed gardens featuring a hummingbird garden, a butterfly habitat and an aviary featuring over four dozen indigenous species of birds.

FILOLI ESTATE

Recognized as one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century. The 654-acre property includes a 36,000 square-foot mansion and 16 acres of European-inspired gardens. The well-known 1920’s coastside restaurant was a gathering place for silent film stars and politicians during Prohibition. At that time, a murder occurred around the Distillery and the ghost of the famed “Blue Lady” is said to haunt the premises to this day.

MUSEUM OF SAN CARLOS HISTORY

In a rebuilt firehouse, the Museum contains artifacts from the Indian and Spanish eras, the 1888 Train Depot and early San Carlos life. It also houses Engine One, a restored 1927 Seagrave Fire Engine, a rare collection of Sorcha Boru pottery, and memorabilia from San Carlos High School.

PULGAS WATER TEMPLE

Built in 1938, the temple commemorates the completion of the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct that brings water to Crystal Springs Reservoir from the Sierra more than 160 miles away. This is one of only three such temples in the U.S., modeled after those erected near canals and waterways by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Just off Canada Road by the Crystal Springs Reservoir.
